I'm afraid the above idea will indeed just prove to be just a wild idea, as already mentioned by me. (The thread I referred to is only of interest for XP-users.)
My fellow-moderator adicoto (in the other "déjà vu"-thread) suggested the problem is UAC-related (for Vista and/or Win7 as OS; unfortunately you didn't mention your OS). Meanwhile having read several posts (also in various other forums) on this error message, I think he may well be right! So maybe try if running BS.Player as an admin does the trick. (I would personally try option four or five).
