I'm not sure for this...i have latest version of bsplayer 2.57.1045B and i found .srt subtitle (central european) but saved as utf-8 (all my subs are saved in ANSI) and when i play it with bs i can't...

first of all make sure that there are no codecs in your system then on clear system install k-lite codec pack and you can also instal real alternative and quicktime alternative than install bsplayer...
