![]() brightness adjusting it does absolutely NOTHING. It seems with all the other things one can do that adjusting the brightness would be one of them. |

For easy reference for other users: zmth is referring to the Color controls window under (rightclick >) Video > Color controls. The correct working of these controls may also depend on the codec/filter used for playback and on the 'video rendering' (overlay settings) and hardware used. Do the shortcut-keys [Home] and/or [End] not work for brightness either? key definition of increase/decrease brightness does not work ![]()

On my computer they do work by being the same according to the screen message as ffdshow luminance gain. Now i also note can go into options, pref's ,ffdshow prop's and get there i assume the same .But in addition there is also an offset adjustment that seems to also adjust the brightness - what exactly is the difference and is it better to use one or the other or which one?

Consider "Luminance offset" to be your (general) basis/starting-position of "luminance" (depending on your "warez" and your personal "likes"). "Luminance gain" then may be used to adapt for individual movies. ![]()
