Just a wild idea: is "Allow intermediate filters" and "Enable advanced graph building" selected/checked under
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Filter management [General] ?
Also verify Preferences-settings of Subtitles [Subtitle properties] and [VobSub]-tags.
What OS do you use and what rendering mode is selected?
